Patlican Fig ?

Hello

I recently bought a fig called Patlican, a Turkish fig.

Does someone here know anything about it ? hardiness ? does it need pollination ?
is it easy to care ?
I know its a dark fig.

Thanks

Do you know if Patlican fig need pollination?

I bought this and another Turkish Green fig ( possibly Beyaz Orak).

They both took off, with spaghetti roots.
These were both one of the easiest and quickest to root.
One of the last to start but one of the first to be potted up.
Ran out of room in the plastic cup.

Patlican

Green Turkish Fig ( Possible Beyaz Orak)

The green fig leaves curled on their own in bin and have stayed that way.

The leaves are stiff and firm with no limp yet, so the curling is interesting. Still have no positive idea if parthenocarpic,
but from everything I have read and seen, it is.

By the way, Patlican is pronounced Patleejan which means eggplant in turkish. We shall see how well it will bear for us here.

Yeah

Everytime I tried looking up info, I kept getting cooking recipes.

yes they where easy to root, i have not potted up mine yet. but the roots are grown good, maybe grown 1,5inch the last day. the rooted cuttings that are in clear plastic bottles a growing better then those that are in black containers.

my cuttings developed  syconium befor roots and leafs, but i broke them off.

Nice spaghetti roots, Flax!!

thanks i might transplant them soon into a new container.

I have two small cuttings rooting with each having a huge birds nest roots but haven't pushed a leaves yet.
Had to snip the top on one of them the other day because it was starting to rot. I hope I made a right move.

Very tasty looking figs

Rafed take good care of those two. I must say the patlican figs were by far the best rooter's I have ever rooted nice thick roots but all four died after transplant. So now back to 0

How long after transplant did they die?
