HelloI bought this about 2 months ago and put it in the ground. It already had figs on it and I know I should have picked them off for it to get a good start at root building. But I couldn't stand it. I wanted to taste it. So far 3 have gotten ripe and they taste awful. So I am pulling the rest of them off. Also those nasty looking leaves pretty much looked like that when I bought it but the new ones that have just now started coming out look good.My question is "Is this to be expected and better days are coming?"

I think you should concentrate on growing the tree first, it's ok to get tempted and leave figs on a young tree, we all have done that , but you shouldn't expect them to taste great .Better days are coming , good luck
It's one of the best tasting figs in my collection. At a young age, they don't have much taste. A few years later, the figs would make you pass out at just one bite! Yeah, they are that good!!!!Good things come to those who wait!
Great, I got something to look forward to. Tomorrow I'll be pulling off the rest of those figs.
