Just wanted to show off some fig clusters on my Pete's honey. This is the third year in ground and it's really taking off... really looking forward to eating these.

What fertilizer do you use on this?

No.  Peters honey fig is not similar to Italian honey or Lemon.  PH has a richer flavor than Italian Honey.  Lemon?  You can feed to the hogs!  IMHO.

I use mostly happy frog fertilizer, this year I started mixing different kinds, one was a local mix that had lots of bat guano, and root fungus... I also use rock dust, mushroom compost, lots of mulch, and a mycelium inoculation.
Last year the heat took a toll on the tree, so I'm hoping it will do better this year, with all the extra mulch and nutrition.

So this tree kinda sucks!
I've decided to air layer 4-5 trunks and use for grafting on the rootstock.
Maybe it's just too much summer sun, but, it dropped all breba figs and is dropping almost all main crop figs this year, so I'm going to try something new... will post pics tomorrow of the air layer progress from start to finish.

Unless your tree is some weird PH strain or your soil has issues but true PH is truly an amazing to die for fig! Years ago my PH fig did the same thing. Forum friends asked me to give it more time. I did. The next year and currently today, my PH is one of my best tasting Figs. Every year it’s a fight between the coons and I to eat ripe PH figs!

Check your soil’s pH, then start feeding it fish emulsion in mid Spring. It will be one of your best Figs too! Good luck!
