Tami, I liked the figs I got from my Aubique Petite last year. I can't claim to have a ton of experience with this variety, but I got main crop figs last year. They're sweet and berry like... not overly sweet but very good taste. I've never had a breba from that tree, but I got 10 or 12 main crop figs that I liked. I posted about that tree on another thread last year ("looks like... Petit Negri... but is it?"). When I get figs from it this year, I'll post pics of those. It's got main crop figs again this year, but not nearly ripe yet. (Hoping for a nice warm September, since quite a lot of my trees set their main crop fruit pretty late this year). As for how early/late they produce, last year I was getting ripe main crop figs by the beginning of September (this is zone 5a, central NY state). That's not the earliest main crop around here, but not the latest either. (Early August for some varieties, earlier if you have a greenhouse of course, but I don't. In contrast, last year Peter's Honey mains didn't ripen by end of September, and then the weather was too cold). This year seems later. Not surprising, as everything is later this year in my locale.
MGG - it'll be interesting to me to compare your main crop with the ones I've got... I'm always interested to confirm whether or not trees are correctly identified, but also so many other factors (culture, climate, weather) can affect the figs. Like I said I've never gotten a breba, so no comparison to make there. But if you get some main crop we can see how similar (or not) they are. I've never gotten breba from this tree, but only had it a year (I bought a mature tree). As an aside, this year the leaves on it look a lot like VDB (last year they seemed more distinct, more dramatically cut, resembling Valle Negra I think).
