Petite Negri grown indoors

I have been growing a Petite Negri indoors since last fall. It is doing fantastically well. Although I am growing it as an ornamental, I was wondering if it is likely to grow figs. Of course that would a real bonus. To the larger question, can figs that do not receive the cold units actually produce a fig crop. I saw in a presentation that figs require 100 cold units. Your comments will be appreciated.

They don't need the cold but they do need a minimum of 6-8 hrs of sun and reasonable fertilizer to produce a crop.

I have had 58 fig varieties fruit without a single chill hour. I don't even think we even had a night under 55 this year.

Part shade-full shade will reduce fruit set and reduce sugar content. It can also cause fruit skin color to be lighter. So a jet black fig like petite negri, may ripen to a reddish brown color.

Thank you all for your information. Direct sun my indoor fig does not get much of. I have considered putting it outside, but it fills such a prominent spot in my living room it would really be missed. Gota love Hawaii, no chill units.
