Hi. Newbie here. Jon at figs4fun thought you might be able to help me. I am looking for a good sized (5 gallon or bigger) brown turkey fig tree in the Philadelphia area. I have found some places on line but would rather support local growers and save on shipping as well. If anyone knows of any good nurseries please let me know and thanks!!!
Try Cinnamonson Nursery.
I do have a Hardy Chicago, three years old,in 41/2 Gal bucket.iT PRODUCED A GOOD 30 FIGS LAST YEAR AND IT WILL AT LEAST HAVE TWICE THAT THIS YEAR.It has three 20 inches trunks, and very good roots. If you want it is 40 dollars.I live in Willingboro
There you go Herman! It is about time we recover some of our expense/time/efforts.Most likely you meant 20" height.I also have ~3 new fig rootings for you (free of course, between good friends!),that I know you may want to trial. More details privately later...George.
Herman is the man. Hardy Chicago is better than Brown Turkey anyways. You can't go wrong with buying from Herman. Brown Turkey is often mislabled at big nurseries.I'm an hour north of Philadelphia. I do carry some stuff as well. I know of a nursery that has some figs in my area.
Where exactly north of Philly because I'm in Phoenixville...
I'm in Bethlehem, pa. I'm probably 45 mins away from you..
Small world...I'm a Lehigh grad :)
