Pic 25th July'14 - Genovese Nero In PNW

Rain for 4 days spoilt my anticipation. Still taste very good. We ate the parts that were
not dark. Genovese Nero would be most ideal in hot dry zone. I have a few more GN brebas
and they are swelling but smaller in size. My wife's hand.

That looks humongous! You would only need two figs to make a jar of fig jam!

Paully, very nice. Do you have a green house to start your figs in or these in pots/in ground?

Sorry to see such a masterpiece go to waste. But at least you got a little bit of what's to be expected from this cultivar (taste wise).

Congrats.

Starting yesterday we will have a stretch of nice weather and I hope the remaining GN brebas
would ripen without rainy weather.

Paully, is yours from Adriano?

Yes - From Adriano.

More Pictures 6th Aug - Genovese Nero Breba. Soooo yummielicious.

Those look sooooo good!

WOW!

That is one fig variety that I really want but I would have to find a way of altering my growing conditions, probably a pot grower.

That looks so good:)  I killed the small one I got, working on a replacement now.

Paul were those as large as the first one you posted??

mine came out ok this yr, but it wasn't all that great. sort of bland, might be the rain..

Main crop 10th Sept 2014. Delicious.

Very nice looking fig!
I was following the GN thread that is locked now, and all that drama.
Forgive me for the question but is this the ‘real’ one?

If it came directly from Adriano as stated #7 then it is the real deal. I know where you are coming from greenfig, I want one but I am going to be real careful with the process of getting one.

My post was not about asking for a fig but to find out what I was looking at since there was so much drama about the GN.

My mistake, I saw it on your wish list so I guess I assumed wrong. Hopefully the drama is over and doesn't need to get started again.

It does not need to start. It came as GN, it is excellent tasting as well as it ripens main crop
for me to enjoy in Pacific North West.

@Nelson - your air layer is enclosed in the cloth as can be seen in picture with leaf. It is ready.

Beautiful fig. Every time I say I have enough figs I see one that I would love to have. Like yours.

Thank you, Paul.
Wayne, no worries.

Whew, thanks for the edit. Sometimes it is beneficial to live in Canada with access to some of the most sought after figs (Adriano). Thanks Paully for all the posts in this thread. I learning and enjoying every time I see posts like yours. Greenfig please PM your name unless you rather not, I would understand.
