Pic Request - Ripe Bisirri fig

If anyone one on the forum has a picture of a ripe Bisirri fig can you please post.

This is the reason why I ask. Leaf on the left Bisirri leaf on right Sal's Corleone. They look Identical to me and its been bothering me for a couple months now.

Nelson:Even if the fruits look the same, they will grow and fruit differenty depending in what part of the world they grew for possible hundreds of years.
In specially cold climate adaptation will be different, and also resistence to rain, will be different.
So thow they might look the same they are not.

Here's a photo of the Bisirri dark. It's a first year fruit, so You may not be able to judge by this photo.

Herman that is very possible I usually dont pay too much attention to leaf shapes until I see figs but man these too just look the same to me, in leaf form ofcourse.

Thank you Bass for the photo, the fig too is similar both my plants are still small but hopefully next season they will both ripen some figs to see a little better. Bass you have both what do you think?

I didn't get ripe figs from my Sal's Corleone, but time will tell. They are both from Italy, The Bisirri was brought over from Italy in 1900's. They are very closely related, not necessarily the same fig genetically.

I had spoken to a forum member about this before, I also called Mr. Bisirri, he spoke to my neice as I was gone when he returned my call, and the info he gave niece on this tree is follows, brought over from Ascoli Piceno, Le Marche region, Italia, Where old mr. Bisirri came from, which is not far from my hometown, I know this town not too well, but well enough.. brought as a sticks, he has both white and dark. It is not a Calabrese fig, that was a misunderstanding as Mr. Bisirri (Old) brought over from his hometown, AP Marche. I must say it does resemble somewhat with leaves of the Corleone Nelson, but I wouldn't think it would be the same. Ciao

Thank you Bass they do look very similar happy I have both. Bisirri fig has some history to it aswell wich is nice to have. Thank you Maggie for clearing up where the Bisirri fig originated.

The very best to you and your family nelson!

Thank you Maggie, the very best to you and your family as well. Next season I will give little Jasmine her first fig see how she likes it.

I have both Sal's Corleone and Bissiri dark. They are not the same fig. both are excellent and I would highly recommend keeping each. Bissiri ripens earlier in my experience, also a smaller fruit, but my tree is still young.

Thank You BLB for confirming they are not the same fig, I am gratefull to have both figs and will take good care of them.

Nelson, becareful giving your baby the figs, there's a risk she'll be addicted to it like my twins. My two your old twins go outside and look for all my ripe figs and eat them after coming back and showing me them.
However I'm happy they love fruits and don't care for cookies.

I think this is the Bisirri Light. Barry, what do you think. The Bisirri Dark is a very small, dark, Mt Etna type fig.
