jpegjpegjpegjpegjpeg

Still trying to fig ur out this picture thing thanks Martin & Cecil. I will get it right one day The white I think might be a Brunswick the leaf shape and fruit fit the description. I picked some ripe ones after 3 days of heavy rain and one was a little sour (Brunswick trait) these in the picture were  good but the blk are by far better in my opinion

Can any one help identify blk fig with mother tree and fig pics
By the way young Sal in the pic is 80

Yeeeeeeeee Hiiiiiiiiiii

Now yer cookin :-)

I wanted to see what Uncle Sal looked like along with the figs!

You got it now!

Just spoke to him broken English broken Sicilian what a great conversation. My mother would always call him a trouble maker because he would always cox me into doing things that wold annoy her what a great relationship they have. They grew up together in Sicily along with his late wife who was my moms god daughter.  1 yr  to the day she passed.

Well tell uncle Sal I said a big Texas Howdy

Us trouble makers need to stick together !

Any clue on the variety of the blk. Yea we do Cecil it is fun though I do the same it is fun ain't it

Sal,
I can't help ya on the ID of the fig!

I'll bet someone will chime in before long though.

And YES it is fun.

I think the blk socks & shorts might be a new fashion statement. Believe it or not Sal worked for Ralph Loren and ran his fashion shows for years. No lie

Sal,
here is pictures of leaves and fruit from my hardy chicago to compare to yours. Its a start for you to compare.
Hardy Chicago is said to come from Sicily growing at Mt Etna.

Martin I was thinking along that same line leaf shape is similar along with fruit. My family is from Sicily and I was there two times when i was 12 &14. I would take my cousins motorcycle and ride up MT Etna. We even spent two nights up at the crater. Middle of summer but it is cold up there you would find little opening to sleep by where the heat would come from, and you would have to hold your breath during the sulfer releases. The town was Linguaglossa .

Any way I was also comparing to Negronne. Are the leaf shapes similar in these two?

Which variety is producing quarters?!

Damnit, none of mine have even figlets yet.  I'm thinking I wont see any figs till next season.  I'll have to just put some quarters on a plate :P
