I have no idea but I'd let them ripen more before picking this year   :)

When your dealing with raccons night after night, it becomes very difficult to say it needs another day to ripen properly. I hope you understand.

Racoons are called masked bandits for a reason, I am glad that beautiful fig was not one of them

no clue, but if you have extra cuttings, is would love to trade. dark outside, red inside, and drop of honey on the eye.

They look great. How do they taste?
I don't know but would like to talk trade down the road!

Philip do you have any backround of this fig such as if it came from neighbor, nursery , etc.

I totally understand. I've got something that takes entire fruits over night if I try to let them get extremely ripe too, so I wait as long as I can, but also pick a wee bit early so I get my share. It's frustrating to watch a fig get almost ripe and then - poof - it's gone.

Do you live where the fig wasp lives? It reminds me of Zidi, but that's just a wild guess. Similar leaf, but the cross section of the fruit is a bit different.  http://figs4fun.com/Thumbnail_Zidi.html

Beautiful fig, thanks for sharing the pictures. I wish I had a tasting application. A couple of figs come to mind but I don't want to guess wrong. Hopefully one of the long time members can share their thoughts.

Also, I'm sure you could get plenty of trades if you want them. Please share more info on this fig.

Hi Martin,
Purchased from Just Fruits & Exotics.  I had high expectations that someone must be growing it, and would have provided more information. That is why I did not include the name. Sold as Col.Littman's Black Cross.

Hi Gina,
I live in central Arkansas outside of Little Rock. No wasp here. Otherwise my tree from the old country would really enjoy making fruit rather than dropping them. You have a good eye it does look similar.

cool. i have been eyeing Col Littman for awhile. i might have to take a dive...
