Picture Unknown Large Dark Fig, Excellent Tasting

Unknown fig. Juicy, sweet -- overall excellent. Better tasting than Genovese Nero brebas.

In ground tree. No winter protection. First time getting figs from tree. Fig did not split with
daily light rains since Saturday.

Congrats Paully! Excellent find.
Thank you for sharing.

That's a great looking one Paul. I can almost taste the picture.

Beautiful and looks tasty!

Very nice, Paully.  Very unique flesh!

Looks very good and sugary traet. Good find

Sure looks and sounds like my 'Rob's Genovese Breba'. IMG_3682.JPG

Thats one plump looking fig!

Beautiful Beautiful    You lucky rabbit.

Amazing!  Congratulations!

Suzi

I think you are going to have many requests for cuttings!

Nom nom nom. How big is the fig tree?

About 5ft tall well branch in-ground.

@Gary -- Good observation of interior. Fig shape appears different.  it does taste
better than my Genovese Nero breba in pot culture. I have never rooted GN before.
I will know pay closer attention to their characteristics & report on it

That is my kind of fig. Please put me on the "want to buy" list if and when you make cuttings available. Thx so much.

So beautiful!  How old is your tree?  Are you in a zone 5?  I have a 4 yr. old TC that will not have figs this year either but I have a fig from a cutting in NYC from last fall that has 2 little figs on it.  I know I should remove them but after 4 yrs. of patience, that is not gonna happen...  That cutting is over 2 ft. tall now.

Am in zone 7. Tree is at least 4 yrs old or older. It was in a neglected state and placed in the ground
as a temporary measure. Never winter protect or water it. Somehow last year it started to grow and
produce figs late in the season. This year it started its brebas early and it sure has got flavor and delicious.
Glad it never died. I don't even know where I got this cutting. I have a few more brebas ripening.

Thank you for the additional info.  I hope it has a long and productive existence in your yard.  Here in zone 4 everything is potted and has to b relocated to the basement for the winter.  I am starting some cuttings that I bought and I'm thinking they will have to stay under lights for the winter upstairs.  You didn't mention how tall the tree is...
