pinching buds? question for the pros

I was wondering. If you snip the tip this promotes branching. So if my tree is loaded with figs and I snip all the tips will this help the fruit ripen quicker as the nutriants will run back down?

i think there was similar post not too long ago. pinching will promote figs and branches. but not sure if it will hasten the ripening process of figs that are already on. don't remember what happened to that other thread.

When you remove the top, it forces the growth hormones to focus on the nodes directly below where it was topped and, to the best of my knowledge, will not help the fruit ripen quicker.

But, I have heard that defoliating the leaves can trick the tree into thinking winter is coming so that it starts "hurrying" to ripen any fruit left on the tree.
