Pine bark fines

I have done a few searches on the forum and have found some suggestions for 'pine bark fines' sources.  Right now, I cannot locate any decent pine bark mulch at all at many stores in my area (some was very wet and mostly composted and with lots of sticks, left over in the store from last year I think).
Has anyone used MG Orchid Mix in place of the pine bark fines in a home made potting mix- it seems to be made up of mostly some type of bark in small sized chunks?  I bought a bag to try it out until area stores get some other choices in stock.  It is not cheap, but I need to start potting up cuttings into #1 size pots and need some materials!

And anyone in W. PA know of a good source for small particle pine bark mulch?

i couldn't find them here either, so i use "nature's helper". 50/50 pine bark fine and compost. it works well for me. of course, i add perlite and peat moss.

The BEST I ever found was Agway's 'Pine Bark Mulch'; almost orchid-grade fine-bark,
2-3 towns over for me, look for a store nearest for you ...
(may not be currently avail ... too early for mulching?)

Ed,
I second agway, I use it in all of my 5 1 1 mixes. I get my course perelite there as well. I actually like the leftovers that are slightly broken down.

I have used some stuff from Home Depot that is called "claybreaker"  I think it is composted pine bark.  not too expensive.  Has some chunks of wood in it but not too much.  Used it in a raised bed last year with good results.  Just started using it in pots.  Planning on using it this year.

Agway's Pine Bark Mulch. I've been using it in my 5-1-1 mix, successfully. Sku # 10202313

Found it at Agway after reading this Topic 2 year ago on Pine Bark Fines.

Ed I'm using this particular pack of MG, the best in market for precious growth. Don't take chances.
Doesn't Pine and Oak products contain too much Acid?

Thanks all for the responses!

I had seen the Agway Pine Bark Mulch recommended on some posts from the last year or so - the closest Agway is not convenient but I'll call to see if they have it in stock yet and check them out soon.

Any idea on using the Orchid Mix in the mean time?

Orchid mix should be just fine. There are a lot of members using it.

Aaron, most members use pine fines of one kind or another and no problems.

The Agway mulch does look like it would work well.  I've been using a product from Kamlar Corp. called "Kambark Pine Bark Mulch".  The Behnke's chain of nurseries here in Maryland stocks it. It could be slightly finer but it works pretty well.  They also make a product called Pine Bark Soil Conditioner but it looks almost too fine.  Maybe mixing the two would work out about right.

I get mine from Walmart. It comes in a purple bag.

I use mg orchid mix with no problems. Hoping to get a trailer full of compost and mulch and mix them once things warm up to test that since it will be more cost effective.
