I have some young in-ground planted fig plants, would pine bark nuggets be OK for mulch?

I've used pine mini nuggets and they work good.
You can try grass clippings, they heat up giving the ground enough heat the figs love. I've seen some fig growers that bag their grass clippings and use it around their fig trees with good results. So I'm giving it a try myself.

I have used both pine bark mulch and cedar mulch as top dressing in pots. Both seem to work fine. Pine nuggets should be fine also. I have found that the roots will grow up into your mulch, so make sure it's something you don't mind becoming part of your potting soil.
