ah.. delicia! would it be Kadota?

Good golly!!

No squirrel and no bird damage??? Where did they all go?

amazing abundance, where are the leaves?

The farm was abandoned in the late 1970's-
Strong and consistent NW winds coming from the sea for most of last August gradually peeled off practically all leaves.
This is the more common Pingo de Mel strain (very good fruit) in the Kadota/Dotatto family of honey figs.
Under the tree, the ground is carpeted with drying and rotten figs.
Did not see any signs of bird/squirrel damage (?)..Nobody to complain and plenty for everyone!

WOW! Unbelievable amount of figs for a tree in the wild and I guess it produced its own fertilizer. Again, amazing.

Wow, nice tree.  Interesting, I was just on eBay and right there - Pingo de Mel!  Coincidence?  Maybe...  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pingo-de-Mel-Fig-tree-well-rooted-and-ready-to-take-off-/291236188660?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276

Phil, this is certainly a coincidence as I am not related in any way with those eBay ads

Lol, I'm sure!  On occasion, if a fig gets high ratings here you will see it pop up quickly on eBay.  Sometimes from not so reputable sellers.
