PiX: damaged trees doing well.

here are some of my damaged 1 gal plants. the damage was mainly due to rot and puppies. but they are growing well.

if you scroll over the pix, it will give the description. they are St. Rita, Niagara Black, and Persian White. i'm definitely looking forward to all of them. i have duplicate of St. Rita in much better shape. i gave one to the lady who gave us our puppies.

no duplicates left on Niagara Black and Persian White.

Glad they are recovering, hope they grow a lot this year to give you a decent crop next year (even if it's only a few)

Huge sigh of relief.

That is great.  They are really coming along now I know you got to be happy with that.

goss

thanks all. i'm very happy they are doing well. specially with Persian White. other than the fact i only have one that survive the winter, i have been looking for this one for some time. with Niagara Black, it's the only one left and i'm happy it doing very well. St. Rita, i'm looking forward to its figs very much. the pix on jon's database looks just amazing and having second tree is always a plus.

Pete,

Several months ago, I bare rooted a 3 gallon 'Beer's Black' I bought last October.  It took longer than expected to get the roots bare and it was dark by the time I was done.  I put it in a bucket of water to hold it until I could pot it up.  One of the dogs took off with it, and I found it the next evening chewed into three pieces.  I potted them up... two (including the main trunk now in a 12 gallon container) survived.  The third piece looks like it's gone tango uniform.

In 2007, I bought a 'Peter's Honey' which had been attacked by a rabbit from a nursery in NJ.  The pics are below.  It survived and I eventually took it back to Houston with me where Hurricane Ike did it in.  To this day, I think this is the most expensive fig tree I've bought.
