My first Malta Black, looks more purple than Black.

How was the taste?

Pretty good-it is a first year plant so I do not want to be too demanding at this time, but it tasted pretty good. I cannot be too descriptive because it was a little underripe, I figured get it before the critters do. But nice texture and good potential is the best I can say for now.

Mike are yours Purplish or Black? Other varieties I have are much darker figs than this.

They will get purplish/black If they stay on the tree long enough.

Your fig's skin will turn darker if it has more exposure to sunlight when ripening.This is an example of a HC that was covered by a leaf when ripening.
