Was soft and tender, no crunch, sweet and refreshing. The skin has a different taste than the heart, less intense I would say. I believe it was ripe since no latex was visible after cutting. That was only one breba but the tree has about 25 main crop figs, still quite small.
That is a long neck. Thanks for sharing the photos and information.
Thanks!I posted an Adriatic breba photo a few days ago, this one is sweeter a bit but probably because it is riper. They were both good.
Igor, I am happy for you. that looks delicious.
Thanks, Grasa! Have you seen your Adriatic? That one is as big as a light bulb :)
Greenfig,Thanks for sharing the picture. Is that a LSU Golden Celeste / Champagne or the UCD Golden Celeste? It resembles the Champagne main crop. Thanks.
Pete,I obtained two cuttings from Jon last year: A2304 Golden Celeste It could be the Champagne as you say but I cannot confirm or deny it. Maybe Jon has any info about the last year’s cuttings? Those cuttings were the most vigorous figs for me. One is about 5 ft tall with multiple branches and covered in figs.
