came home and walked around the back deck to check on the trees. to my surprise, there were 1 VdB and 1 Paradiso Gene ripen and ready to be taken. VdB, i just ate it on spot. no pix. 

Paradiso Gene has honey on the eye and a bug. so i took it inside and cleaned it and decided to take the pix. 

it was sweet, had something more, but not exactly berry or melon. just comfortably nice taste as last yr. but i think it was a notch better than last yr. unlike the spring of 2012 Paradiso Gene, this one was suitably ugly. but still tasted like a heaven. didn't noticed too much seed crunch this time. not sure why. with no rain in last two days, i think this one took a good time to ripen.

that's korean coin.. 500 won.. it's about the size of quarter. i'm still waiting on the JH Adriatic.. so not sure if they are similar or different. i know that gene h. used to say this was one of the best green fig. i like it, but the taste is very humble. sort of like i like to drink Gunness or Boddington instead of those super hop'ed microbrew stuff. 

just came home from vacation and had 5 Paradiso Gene. with 3 days of rain, and past history of figs blowing up, i wasn't looking for much.. but "WOW". none of the figs blew up, and they retained much of the flavor. it's not exactly the top flavor.. after all, it rained for 3 days while they were ripening.. but it was still sweet with honey flavor. it's quickly becoming my top fig. 

my computer broke last week. using my son's labtop.. won't upload pix for awhile.. i can still do it.. just that it's lot of pain doing things on the laptop. 

Hi Pete, beautiful looking fig. I take it that Paradiso Gene is different from Paradiso that Joe Morle sells. Can you post a picture of your Paradiso leaf next time? How many different Paradisos are out there, in your opinion?Thanks.

Nice fig Pete! There are maybe 5 or 6 different figs with Paradiso in the name. Pretty sure there are a couple threads with that info.
