the cuttings were sent to me from a very generous forum member back in 2012. this had very hard time. there were to cuttings that made it, but both were attacked by our puppies and this on survived. no, it's not a creeping fig. lol
I'm so glad this one made it. If it gets 1 or 2 figs this year will you leave them or remove them?
I have seen Jose's pictures of the fruit; it looks awesome!I think mine is dead.
Nothing wrong with it, Grasshopper,It's only bowing to its' martial arts master.
Thinking Pete will airlayer this one eventually.Would make a nice inground growing that way like they do in Japan i think it is.
Nice work saving it Pete. Along with the layering that Martin mentioned it to bury the elbow when you pot up.
It is an awesome looking fig. Taste wise have been ordinary here. May need somehotter weather or that I have varieties that surpassed it's taste attributes. One moreyear here, if not it goes to a different home.
martin and jd are right. this will turn into 3 trees. i'll be putting air layer on each bends. the tree is actually going into 3rd yr. it's finally putting on a good growth. i'll be keeping all the figs on it. this spring has been awesome. good weather with ton of sunshine, and light breeze everyday with good humidity. i hope it keeps up. oh.. rain about every 3 days. i can work with that. lol
