Yesterday I made pizzas 2 ways.
One savory:
pizza dough
caramelized red onions ( low heat in a little olive oil )
Finely chopped fresh rosemary small amount 1/4 tsp or less - it's strong in flavor
slices of "not quite" ripe figs
pignoli nuts
prosciutto pieces- twisted into ribbons - they get crunchy this way
grated cheese - larger flakes - no too fine anyway (locatelli or whatever good cheese you like)
olive oil -drizzle over top
Place ingredients on flattened dough in above order and bake
The "just under ripe" figs actually got a nice sweetness during the baking- not overly so for this pizza.
One sweet:
pizza dough
ricotta cheese
slices of figs fully ripe or not up to you
grapes sliced in half (opt.)
chopped nuts - your choice
semi sweet choc chips- we didn't over do -wanted to taste figs the most
honey
Flatten pizza dough
spread layer of ricotta (1/8") , place other ingredients in order and top w/ a drizzle of honey and bake until dough is done
Hope you enjoy!
AND I forgot to take pix!! :-(
