Hello Liza Mallah,

Thank you for your request about bringing plant material to the US. An individual IN the United States will need to contact us and we will explain to them how they can apply for a permit as an ( importer). We only issue permits to people in the United States who have a valid US address. We do not issue permits for anyone outside of the US.

Please have the US importer call us at 301-851-2046.

Thank you

Scott

Liza,
Thank you  !!

Hi Liza!

How about the importing to EU procedure?
You know what are EU regulations for importing cuttings from USA?

Thanks!

In general, most countries require the importer to have a permit. This is required for EU countries. You will need to obtain a phyto-sanitary certificate to include with the shipment, and there are requirements for inspection and treatment.

Below are pix of the search for requirements for Belgium, as an example, when you go to the USDA PCIT website

In the case of Belgium, it required that the cuttings be attached to the plant, that the plant be inspected 2-3 times over the course of 30-60 days, and then removed from the plant, and shipped with an import permit and a phyto-sanitary certificate. Each of those inspections costs $$.

This website will also give you a headache.

Thank you Jon!

I have found on USDA site some user fees:
http://www.aphis.usda.gov/import_export/plants/plant_exports/userfees_export_certificate.shtml

$106 for commercial shipments
$61 for non-commercial shipments

+ $6 or $12 administrative fee
