Plate of RdBs coming my way. (pic)

I've said it before, but I could happily replace 1/2 of my varieties with RdB and live happily ever after. This tree is in a 5 gallon SIP and has been feeding me for the past month. 3rd year tree with over 50 figs this year. I picked 12 ripe figs just yesterday with several more that will be ready tomorrow. My ONLY complaint is that 1/2 of them tend to split, probably due to being in a SIP. Other than that, a wonderful all-around fig that will ripen several weeks before most other varieties.. I still have a few new varieties to sample, but if they aren't as good as RdB, they're gone.

Congratulations,Looks awesome,I can only hope that my figs trees look as nice and are as productive in 3 years time!

Beautiful figs! I am happy for you. Can't go wrong with RdB.

Thank you.  It's a reliable variety, that's for sure!

Wow! Simply outstanding Frank.

Frank -- Do you have room in-ground?  RdB works well in-ground for me here, with protection.  Sadly, my figs are not are far along as yours.

I agree with your sentiments completely, Frank. Everyone should have RdB.

Now thats a meal

I actually placed one in the ground last year.  It has bushed out and growing fast, but no figs from that one, surprisingly.  I have 2 in pots and they seem to enjoy the potted life.

Absolutely, Gary.  It's a great beginner fig for someone just getting into the hobby.

Looks beautiful, I can only dream one day. My RDB arrive with all the dead, this year all the leaves turned brown from the heat. It has since been moved and has leaves again, but no figs

My first tree was a RDB, bought cuttings from Harvey after reading such good reviews on here. It's only on its second season, and had taken some knocks in my learning processes, but it will be a great treat when it matures.
