Pleach A Fig Tree

here is the trunk. Sorry, it was raining so the foliage was hanging down. It seems to be a Celeste which has rather upright trunks making it easier to braid.

Hmm. Don't know if that picture attached.

No picture, indeed.

Okay, it was raining and I just darted out but here it is. Also, the tree is a Celeste so it has naturally more ascending branches as opposed to some of the more octopus-ish ones.

Witch....

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to post the twisted pictures.

I can't tell, but I bet if that plant was cleaned-up, and pruned to shape, it would make a wonderful specimen...a sight to behold!

Very cool Dave. Did you just start with two cuttings in same pot?

Take a look at the top of the first page there are photos of what I did

I had an idea to pleach a Caprifig and a Zidi. Might still try it, I need to find a tip cutting of Zidi, I think this way they will look better..
Yours look very good!

Do you feel that you have to water twice as much?

Twice the water twice the fertilizer and twice as big a pot no different than having twins

Hi Dave-

This old thread caught my eye.  Just saw the photos of the twin trunks starting to fuse together.  Very nice!  The trunks are really starting to thicken up.

Wishing you continued success with the fig-braiding experiment.
