Bump :)

Bumping this up -

I am still going to try to come. My family has decided to drive down to see our new home. I think they will probably be gone by 4 pm but we shall see :)

Reminder to all in the Seattle area!

Slavi is putting a lot of work and will be marinating some food. He needs to know how many people are coming...also, if there are any vegetarians, so everyone is served.

It is so nice of him to open his house for this meeting and it will be fun to meet many of you and see some of you I have not seen in a while.

Nichole, I hope you can make. We will be waiting for you and your husband.

Please respond or Call Slavi, the number is listed above.

See you there.

Where are the Seattle people?

Thanks for hosting Slavi. I didn't eat much but everyone said it was amazing ;)

I hope this becomes a tradition!

Great photo, Nichole! Names to faces? Were there figs to eat? If you are still seeking Lampeira, PM me. I have a small plant with your name on it.

I am really bad with names but I will try.

Bill (not a forum member), Grasa, Slavi, KiwiBob, me, and TahomaGuy2

There were other members there that left early and we didn't think to pull out the camera before they left. We'll be more 'on it' next time.
Thanks to KiwiBob for bringing his camera, and for Grasa's SO for taking the pic!

Oh and no figs. Most our figs ripen late July and August.

Yeah Nicole you are right -- No figs to sample. Perhaps Slavi can organise it for 3rd week August 2015. I cannot bring
figs but I can bring freshly caught salmon. Fig weather here have been perfect. (turning color)now are Genovese Nero,
Latarrula, Unknown(Likely a BT) and Firione Du Ruvo.

Fresh grilled salmon sounds heavenly

Oh we forgot to have the group picture and only after a few left, so, missing Scott, Dan and ???

It was great, and yes, we should do it again. What a nice group of people. I am so lucky to have met you all.

We did have some 'not so dried' figs, but no fresh... just tons of very cute fig trees in Slavi's yard. It was a lovely day. Thank you all.

One of my friend takes all the almost starting to ripen main crop figs in early November and makes an
excellent sauce for salmon. No problems for me to supply salmon. I love fishing them and we are expected
to have a huge run this August.

This is good idea Paul.We will do it later next year.

You are welcome.

Slavi,

Many Thanks for a great time and feast Saturday :)

I'm already looking forward to another Fig Gathering when the rest of us have ripe Brebas, the opportunity to meet Paully (and his Salmon), and a great Fig Feast.

Those Figistas who didn't get in the photo because they had to leave before someone suggested a photo were Scott (pyxistort), Denny (who named the Olympian Fig) & Audrey McGaughy, and TahomaGuy2. The guy on the right side of the picture is really kudzu9, not TahomaGuy2.

Happy Growing (and Eating), kiwibob, Seattle

Thanks for correcting me, Bob. He was the only one I wasn't 100% certain about. I'm horrible with names. I'm teaching at the college right now and I already warned them I won't remember anyone's name. Major flaw of mine ;)
