Not to get off topic, but I just noticed the name of your farm. My grandfather was a Correia from his mothers side.

Very nice to see those from Portugal, and Portuguese descendants, on the forums.

That dark fig looks very nice.
I am not sure but the most popular figs in Alentejo seem to be all local varieties grown for many years but names are not easily identified.

The Centro de Hortofruticultura da Escola Superior Agrária de Beja did apparently start in the recent past, experimenting several cultivars to assess the potential for commercial growers but never saw the results.

I wonder if they have any support literature to help farmers to identify and select the best figs for the area.
