Posting Pictures help

I've wanted to post so many pictures but I cannot figure it out.  My files are too large and I cannot find a program to downsize them. I run on Linux and the Windows programs I've been pointed to do not work.  Is there a picture hosting anyone uses?  Is that easier?  If anyone could point me in the right direction, that would be awesome!

Sarah I use Microsoft Paint to resize my pics. I go to the top and resize them under IMAGE, then choose STRETCH/SKEW, only use the stretch boxes for Horizontal and Vertical and make them about 70% in both of them then click OK. Works every time.

Hey Sarha,
I used gimp to resize images on Linux. There are also several free online tools, but I have no idea how those do. If you have trouble with gimp, PM me and I might be able to help.

Sarah,
Use convert on Linux, works well.

GIMP is not only awesome, it's FREE. And I use Photobucket to post my pics. It's also free.

Yeap, GIMP is cool although I prefer the command prompt (hence ImageMagick) , I can do 100 photos in 5 sec with a simple command.
Resize, add some contrast and sharpness, change resolution and you are done!

Linux has so many free tools for everything. Apple allows you to use most of them, although with some sour apple aftertaste ..

Thank you everyone! All of the advice and recommendations are most appreciated! I'll have to check it out now!
