Potted Fig Question

I potted the small fig tree in the picture about 1 week ago. I had it in the ground since Spring but had it too close to another tree. I used about 2/3 potting soil and 1/3 perlite and it is well mulched. It is in a spot that gets direct sun from late morning to early afternoon. Yesterday, I noticed some minor wilting of the leaves during this peak sun period. It was fine later in the day. Should I be concerned? I have watered it heavily each morning and the pot is well drained.

I would prefer to put it in shade for at least 2 weeks, watered well & then slowly expose it to more sun. I do the same to my air or ground layered figs.

More shade, esp on the afternoon for a week or two. The fact that ir looks OK in the a.m. means that it is not too badly stressed, but still not ready for full hot sun. Just baby it a little bit.

thanks for the feedback everyone
