Hello fig friends,

Please take a moment and pray for Miss Betty's health, wife of Mr. Robin. She has been hospitalized for the past few days, losing her long (6 years) battle with Alzheimer's disease. Just heartbreaking hearing what James had to say, knowing how much he cares and loves his beloved wife, Miss Betty.

Best,
Navid.

Such an evil disease Alzheimers. Runs in my extended family, so have an idea what James is going through. May Miss Betty find peace and the love of her friends and family.

Is Mr Robin, the older gentleman that grows figs in Louisiana? Such a nice gentleman, when I spoke to him. Hope Mr Robin has enough support, Alzheimer's is devastating. Thats very sad news. I hope she is comfortable and at peace.

St. Lucy's Grotto in The Bronx, NYC is a religious and contemplative refuge for those in need of Devine Intervention.  I will make a visit there for Mrs. Robin, my father, and for those who need help, and pray for God's help.

You have been prayed for and will be prayed for Ms Betty and Mr James Robin.  My 80 year old mother is at the beginning stages of dementia.  Not to the degree of dealing with Alzheimer.

I'm going to see James Monday morning, or maybe even tomorrow if the weather is all right.

I printed out this thread and will take it to him to read.

Hi,

I went and saw JR and forgot the posts, so I sent them to him.  He received your prayers and best wishes yesterday and called me to ask me to let y'all know that your posts were so very welcome and he thanks each of you for your kindess.

Miss Betty is in a home right now and is doing quite well.  She gets speech therapy and I believe physical therapy as well.  She is eating better and a feeding tube is not necessary after all.  James can go see her several times a week, but he says she's closer to me than to him.  She's in Church Point.

God bless all of you for your expressions of love for JR and Miss Betty.

What a lovely husband mr. Robin is. Every time I spoke with him he mentions his wife. God bless this man and may we learn the love and patience he has.

Thanks for keeping us updated . Even though I do not know them it is good to hear our continued prayers are being answered. Alzheimers  is very rough on the caregiver, mentally and physically . He sounds like such a special man.

Thank you Vivian for such a great news. Did not get a chance to speak with James this week, but I will call him tomorrow.
I am very happy for James, I know he was missing her when Miss Betty was hospitalized. As Bass said, James is a great guy, he's been taking his ill wife for 6 long years without ever complaining when he also had his own health issues as well.

Thank you all for the kind words.

Navid.

Y'all are so sweet and caring.  James is so deeply moved by your posts here for him and Miss Betty.

You're welcome, Navid.  It seems that James is at peace about where Miss Betty is now.  The people seem very caring and concerned.

I will see James tomorrow at the Fig Fest and will print out the additional posts to give to him.

God bless all of you,

noss
