I like having a few good places to compare prices to when I need something for the garden. Thought that this link someone might benefit someone looking for reasonably priced containers.
I've gotten #7 nursery containers for 2.50 per pot. They have a fair range of sizes and types.

Feel free to share your online go to spots for gardening supplies here.

I've ordered those very same blow-molded pots. I don't recommend them. They are thin, flimsy and do not hold their shape. The "handles" are useless.

Spend a little more and get injection molded pots. 5 times the quality. I like these by Gro Pro. I've bought several different sizes. They are thick and sturdy.

Wow Rob, those are pretty cheap.  Do they charge much for shipping?  Do the pots hold up outside ok?  I'd much rather have black pots than the blue Lowes 5 gallon buckets I'm using.  Thanks guys.

I just ordered 10 of the 1 gal pots, 5 of the 5 gal pots and a root riot tray + cubes, the shipping cost was actually a little more than the order.  I will report back on the quality of the pots when they come in.  I still think I paid less than I would have at a local store and none of my local 'big box' stores have much in the way of gardening supplies at present anyway.

I ordered these pots and used them for the first time last year. I highly recommend them. I have limited space but was able to start about 300 figs last year with them. I had mine in a small hoop house. i removed the plastic from the hoop in May and started smaller batches covered by clear Rubbermaid tubs. When space is at a premium, these pots are really great!

You guys are very helpful. Thank you. For the record my pots from GHMS weren't ridiculous-for my needs like a piece of wet cardboard or anything but true, the handles are not the best. If you need cheap pots though they are not that bad. They are light enough that you could place them in a decorative pot.
All that being said, the next time I need some pots I'll certainly try you guy's links.
I'm up for some tree pots because I want to sprout some Sunflower paw paw seeds and I hear that they have a long tender tap root.

I've had very good luck on Craigslist...

Greg, I'm pretty sure you could put in a "practice" order to see what shipping costs.

I found the shipping to be quite inexpensive but it does skyrocket once the pots exceed the 10 gallon size.
They are very sturdy pots that will last many years; I also like that they have a wide bottom which makes them more stable when it's windy.

Oh by the way, as everyone probably knows, but I'll mention anyway, those nursery manufacturers live in some parallel universe, where the capacity of a 7 gallon pot is actually 5.6 gallons, etc.

I just looked at that post about the nursery pots. I'm a landscape designer and I have access to all kinds of pots, but I guess I'm a little lucky that way. I would ask your local nursery for used pots, or your landscaper. Many times they just throw them away or have them sitting around the yard waiting to be thrown away. Craigslist is good also. If you have a recycling facility that you can go to you would be surprised what you can find in the Spring.
