problem with some green cuttings.

the other day, my Smith green cutting was drying up. it has been in the bin with high humidity. the cup it is in has plenty of moisture, but the cutting was still drying up. at first i thought that the cutting was rotting, or too much water was causing the issue. i figure it was going to die. then for the heck of it, i watered it. now it looks much better. the cutting is plumping up and no longer look shrunken. maybe green cuttings need more water then hardwood cuttings? it started to have black spots on the leaves and dropped two. still has 2 ralatively healthy leaves and the terminal bub is still attached to it. will see what happens.

good luck.  Water evaporates through the leaves so a cutting with leaves will use a lot more water than one without.  A little drought may enourage it to produce roots.  Let us know.

looks like my Smith are about to kick the bucket. the cuttings are both drying up really bad and the buds are barely hanging in there. one of the cutting has all the buds already dried up and about to fall off. other one has small branch, but the terminal bud doesn't look too good. 2 remaining leaves are starting to get black spots and about to fall off.

Scott's Black cuttings I have are also green cuttings. They are doing little better. but doesn't look super.

One of the RdB was also green cutting, but it took off fast and put out roots and it's in 1 gal pot without any issue.

i need to look into green cuttings further.
