Promix in Central Jersey?

Does anyone know where I can find this in the Jersey Shore area? I've been to a few local nurseries and although I know they use it, they don't sell it. I've looked online at Ebay etc, but I'm dubious about it being the right stuff, plus the price of it, it's like gold dust, lol. Is Promix HP or BX better for growing figs?

Griffin greenhouse supply is in Ewing outside of Trenton it's about 45minutes or so from belmar. They sell every kind of promix as well as other mixes and all things nursery related. It's 32$ a for 3.8 cu feet. I think... That's where I go. Also cooperative growers in tabernacle has it. The only downside to griffin is the hours Monday through Friday after Memorial Day and 9-430.

I've been using Promix HP straight from the bag with very good results HP means high porosity which is what figs like for their roots

Lowes carries Promix HP. They charge $16 or so a bag. If you need a SKU, let me know.

Sue,
The Lowes in Lawrenceville and Hamilton both carry Promix HP, so there is a good chance one closer to you does too.

Suzy...Agway in Raritan N.J. sells ProMix BX(they don't handle HP)...they charge $41 for 3.8cu.ft....I mix it 50/50 with Agway pine bark mulch($6.95 per 3cu.ft.)...makes the ProMix go a lot further. Call them first to make sure they have it in stock...it moves pretty quick...here's their # 908-725-9252.

Cooperative growers in Tabernacle, NJ on RT 206 sells Promix and many other growing supplies at a very reasonable price. Pro mix is $25-28 depending on how many you buy.

Greenfig,  that size Promix is larger than the bags I have been buying.
