Thanks for the link Dave.

I think most of us grow things other then figs - even if it's grass!

Thanks for the link Dave. Don't know if I would ever do this but it was interesting to see/read !

it does work very well for some things. still doing experiments with others.

Dave, you also win the honour of most posts in a 24 hour period !

Oh yeah. Well right on. I work from home selling plants and stuff. Kind of my down time. So I. Spend time on the computer extending my networking and making friends. I beleave in sharing what I know if it will help make somthing easier for someone else why not. My ultamate goal in life is to sell enough plants to set up a small farm for plant propagation. But I mainly do food baring plants. So all the food will be donated to the public and needy. Free food paid for by plants. I'm not greedy think that's the root of all evil. That's just me though.

There are some youtube videos on building a mist cloner as well.  5 gal buckets to 20 gal coolers  :)

yeah i did alot of research and youtube helped with that alot i must confess. the other club i am in is full of a bunch of senior folks as good hearted as they are alot of em dont navigate well through the net and cant find alot on youtube. i was talking about things like this in the club and they asked if i could give them more info so i did this. at 31 i was told i was the youngest member in the club. over 200,000 members but quite in the fourms. you post somthing and usualy have to wait a few days for a reply. but they are a bunch off good peeps over there as well. just not as much activaty as i have seen here. lotsa good info on organics, seed/cutting swaps and such.

Have you tried this system to grow figs?

I tried it once the first time I ever tried rooting cuttings. some rooted great and others didnt. but i have come along way since then and relize the error of my ways. i only had the very bottem of most of the cuttings exposed to the mist. the cuttings that were 4 or more inches deeper all rooted but those that were barly in just dried up like jerky. that was a user error on my part. this system has worked well with everything else i rooted, but fig cuttings are VERY very hard for me to come by in Illinois to take chances with. but i do intend on giving it another go.
