pruning

I'm in ohio and have three trees that are 3 years old and have alot of
growth, I would like to know the best time to prune in my area. thanks

I'm guessing that at 3 years old you should have some fruit on now. I would wait til fruiting is done and they begin to go dormant. Then you will have cuttings for trade.

Don't mean to bump the thread but it is pruning related.....umm, when pruning do you only cut back this year's growth, and use that for cuttings OR is the prior year's growth also appropriate for cuttings??   I just had to ask.

Both will work fine for cuttings.

Good to know Ken!!  Of course, I am waiting for trees to go dormant before I touch them!
