Pruning fig shurbs in pot.

I was wondering about the pruning in such way. (Because fig will be grow in home, so it will occupy a little space). And if fig release for example 10 new growth with 6 figs on each it will be very good crop. Does this solution make sense?

for space a single stem is the way to go. this will push out more and more growth turning your tree into a bush. which isn't a bad thing but if space is limited it could be. 90 % of my figs are multi stemmed plants but are grown outside. anything over 4 or 5  main stems and the plants worries more about putting on growth then figs in my experience.  also every time you cut the plant back hard you'll lose your breba crop and in zone 6 breba might be all you can get out of most varieties.

Don't look at the zone. It will be grow in home, at the windows with a lot of light and heat. Even then main crop will be not for me? :(

if you try to ripen figs in your home, window light won't be enough. you'll need supplemental lighting in the form of a hps grow light or equivalent. otherwise your tree will start turning yellow and dropping leaves. It's best to let them go dormant. they can sleep underground just fine in cold areas. you can dig a hole, put your plants in the hole, cover the hole with a board, and cover the board with the soil from the hole. thats about the easiest thing to do if you only have a few plants

Regardless of lighting requirements, if you want to grow a small, productive tree in a pot, you might want to check out this thread on training figs in bush form: http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=6388743

Also, if your light is limited, I think you'll want to keep the foliage thinner than you would if it were in full sun. If you let it get too bushy, I don't think the leaves underneath will get enough light.

Hi Maris,
I would try with 3 stems from the dirt no more and cut at 40cm or 50cm not under that height.
Now, the size of the pot is your bigger matter ! How big is the pot ?

Thanks to all for your good advices this is very helpful. :)
