psyched about Salce - which are you waiting for?

Many thanks to Bill and Mario for sharing this fig with the community here.  I count 11 figs on my tree right now and really hope they all make it (and more).  Can't wait to taste that carmel, slightly burnt sugar flavor again.

That sounds incredible Steve, I hadn't heard of that one yet, NUM!

Tami,

Each person has their own personal tastes, likes and favorites.  Salce is the only variety that I wanted triplicates of.  Keep watch on the figgy forum late fall or early winter.  Bill/Mario offered a few varieties this past year available as cuttings at a reasonable price.

That's good stuff Steve! I've got a Salce rooted and growing as we speak. Can't wait to taste it!

I'm also looking forward to Bill Saxon/Mario figs. I got them all!
It was a winter of acquisitions, and I got some exciting varieties from Marius (mnedelcu). I'm most ecstatic for St. Rita, Florea, Nordland, and Takoma.
The one I will be babying the most this year is the Genovese Nero I got from Harvey.
I got a lot of good varieties from him.
Mike (Newnandawg) set me up with some really nice stuff too.
I may only taste one fig from each of these new varieties (if I'm lucky), but from the ones I already had last year, Atreano is the one my wife and I liked the most.
VDB was darn good too. Gave me flashbacks of my Portuguese childhood. Thank you Rich (Seekonk).

Grow, babies, GROW!

I'm still looking forward to my first ripe fig. I have a few brebas currently. Overall I am more excited about my mystery fig from bass, hopefully getting some fruits.

Lol, yes...

There are quite a few I'm very excited to be tasting for the first time this year. Every time I think of narrowing it down to even just 3, I can't... There are maybe 20 that will be fruiting for the first time and every one will be an adventure.

But... if I had to pick just one it would be Unknown Negretta from Marius. It's heading into it's second year and one of my more vigorous growers. It also seems to be putting on a good number of young figlets.

5 minutes from now I'd probably have a different answer. :)  Like maybe if my very young true UCD Black Ischia were to fruit....
