Purple Italian Fig With Leaves like a Blk Madeira

I have an unknown Italian fig that I took cuttings from here in NJ. The Italian guy who owns the tree said he brought it from Italy. Now that the tree is about 2 feet tall it has consistently been growing the same leaf shape. The leaves look like a BM. It has purple fruit. I don't know what the color is on the inside.

Any ideas what it might be?

258 fits those descriptors. Definitely follow up this thread in summer/fall with leaf and ripe fruit pictures(whole and sliced in half from top to bottom).

will have to look at the fig. leaf shape can be similar among number of diff figs.

Yes Madeira for the most part can be distinguished from most others better yet ship ripe ones (whole bunch)  overnight and i tell you if they are Madeira.  ; )
