Last pic no oil and was first fig to develop and it hasn't changed at all! all other I put oil on 2 days ago! WTF that's awesome! Varieties Osborne prolific, & negronne

Can u explain putting the oil. Do u just rub it on the eye, the whole fig, or inside somehow

That's cool. I've read about the oil trick but never really tried it.
Oil is used in fall to speed maturity before impending cold. The knock is that it reduces quality. Given that breba quality is already low, why the hurry?
I've tried applying olive oil to late to ripen fall figs. Not worth doing- while does stimulate ripening, quality was very poor.
