Q: leafing out on bottom node- cut or bury?

Checked on one of my cuttings tonight.  It's getting really good growth out of the bottom node.  Should I cut it off now or should I just bury it when I'm ready to move to a cup.

BTW-  only root initails right now; not leafing out anywhere else on the cutting yet;  only about 1/4" between bottom node and end of the cutting.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I faced similar situation for different reasons. In baggie method I left the wrong end uncovered which callused and rooted fast and so I potted it with rooted end. Later I found that the shoot on top end emerged growing downward. I discovered that I had potted the wrong end so I removed it from the pot and planted it horizontally with the shoot up. I hope another shoot will emerge so I can cut it in two to make two plants; if not then I will plant it in a wide container for the first year.

I rip off any shoots from the midway point down, regardless of root state.  I don't cup up the cutting unless I have at least a root or two at half inch long or more, had too many "initials" fizzle out on me and do nothing.
