This is the first season that my VDB's leaves are so long and wide. They are 12-17 inches long and 6-9 inches wide. The longest leaves (15+ inches) are the one on top of the tree.

Is this something common with VDB having such a long leaves?

VdB does produce finger like leaves. I have never seen them that huge though.

No George. Gave it a little Osmocote back in April along with some limestone. Also, since April this tree (along with my other trees) have been only liquid fertilized every 4-6 weeks.

the leaves look just like my VdB. but mine are not that big. my tree is in 10 g pot and gets liquid fertilizer every week.

For me, they look more like Brunswick leaves. At least, none of my VdBs have ever had leaves like that. Should be more "pointy". Has this fruited yet?

This year is the only year that leaves are so huge on this particular tree. I keep it in a 25 gallon pot and it's over 8 feet tall, had to clime my retaining wall to take those pics. from the top leaves. Other than the Osmocote, it gets fertilized every 4-6 weeks or whenever I come back to my house.

Then it is over fertilized.George got it right.

Yes, it has fruited for past two seasons and it's a VDB. Those leaves do resemble the leaves on my Brunswick only they are a little larger. Also, as of right now, the figs (all unripped) on the VDB are getting dark red and those on the Brunswick are still green.
