I am considering air layering semi green wood but have some reservations as to whether this is a waste of wood. Hence if any one has some experience in this area, I would appreciate any advise. Thanks.

everytime you post i cannot help think of the excellent salmon fishing you enjoy and talked about !

I just posted some airlayer pictures if thats what your talking about, i have had all success so far about 7 or so with this years growth.

Talk to "gorgi" - I am pretty sure he has done it and probably has some tips.

I did air layer semi-green fig wood successfully.
It takes a little longer to root (4 weeks?).
I would not girdle it, as it may break.
Securing the the air layering medium to a garden stake will help.
Make sure to enclose at least one node (for roots).
