Question for Herman? Anyone?

Herman, a while back you had confirmed this tree for me as a Sal's Corleone by the leaves. I bought it as a SC/BC but was unsure because it came from an unreliable source. I now have a picture of the ripe fruit and am wondering if the fruit looks right. Thanks.

Absolutelly,It is Sal Corleone do not doubt a bit,in fact let me dig and find a pix from my tree.
Of course there is a little difference because of the climate ,yours is better and warmer than mine but you can see ,the particulars,it is the same fig cultivar.

Herman,  I guess I'm going to be forever asking you for help in identification of figs. Because the leaf of the Sal's Corleone right above your thumb, does not look like to me, the leaf in the picture from fatnsassytexan

My Sal's Corleone leaf looks like the leaf in your picture, not Fatnsassytexan's Sal's Corleone leaf.  My one year old Sal's Corleone only produced one fig this year, and it only started to ripen today. I'm hoping that each new year it will ripen earlier then late October

Since the leaves do not look the same as the one in your picture, how can you tell?

Bob

Bob:We allready compared leaves last Spring.
The leaves in my picture are top branch imatture leaves, because my pix was portraing fruits not leaves at this time.
If I was going to show a typical Sal Corleone leaf,I would have chosen a fully grown leaf that represent the majority of mature leaves on that tree.
You probably have a young tree that did not develope mature leaves this year, and that is why.

Here are some photo's of my Sal's Corleone to compare with. Fatnsassytexan, if you are in doubt as to what you have, I'd be more than happy to share an airlayer of mine next season:

Herman, thank you so much. Maybe Zergas sent a correctly labeled cutting after all, lol. Others from him are not turning out to be what I ordered, but are still turning out to be some great unknowns.

Leon, thank you for posting the pictures and for your offer. My leaves are more the shape of those in your fourth picture, but after looking again, I do see a few like the ones in your other pic's.  This is it's first year in ground after some neglect in a pot the first year. I'm pretty confident that it is the right cultivar now. All I can do now is wait & see.

Bob, are your SC leaves more round with short wide lobes like Leon's pic.?

To explain what I mean about neglect, I was so bummed about what I bought from Z(after I found out the problem), that I didn't really take care of them the first year. But I'm over it now and realized that it is more about taste and performance in my climate than names. So, I've started treating them nicely, lol.
