Question for the guys who use Miracle Grow

It's a little late in the season to find this out, but after observing a full season and developing a system for taking care of my trees I'm wondering if this is working as well as it should. I used MG about once a week to supliment the slow release fertilizer I used. I would water them withthe MG applicator you hook up to the hose, now I'm wondering if the applicator mixes it to weak? Does anyone use the MG feeder? My only evidence is that of this is when I mix up MG in a jug the water is clearly blue. When I fill up a jug with water from the feeder it is not really that blue colored.

i don't use feeder.. i just mix it in watering can. no issue so far. i stopped fertilzing mid last month. figs were swelling.

Yeah, I have not used it since about that time as well. Im already trying to figure out what to do next season to improve.

I don't premix it. I put just a pinch of it dry on the soil surface then water it in. Sometimes I'll mix the dry MG with some Ammonium sulfate for extra nitrogen, and sprinkle that on and water in.

I Use the  MG applicator twice weekly . My tomatoes love it as do my figs, Squash,Pumpkins,Sun Chokes,Peppers and Greens. The MG is good for about 15 minutes ,then starts to run clear. So I add another bag to the applicator .

Hey there 71GTO every time i see your SN it reminds me of the 67 Chevelle i had .

Anyways i buy the econ size MG which has the long bags of mg in it to mix with water.

The instructions say on my econ size box
fill the feeder with refill bag, it despenses 50 gallons of water in 12-15 minutes to feed 500 sq ft.

Now i did this some years bag on a patch of grass and i recall the water was blue at the time and looking at the picture on box next to me it shows it blue as well.

Also says on box With Watering Cans
smaller outdoor garden  use 1 level tablespoon the large end to 1 gallon of water and a typical gallon and a half watering can.

For indoor plants use 1/2 teaspoon the small end of scoop to 1 gallon of water.

Thanks guys, I read some reviews and tips. It seems like the feeder isn't the best desIgn. I use it because it's easy. Maybe next year I will mix it by hand and see.

If you haven't done so,...neutralize acidic soils with granular limestone....Many fert's.  turn soils too acidic.  Figs hate acid soil.

I do add lime over the course of the season to my trees. Im debating also maybe seeing if I can locate a better water based fertilizer. My car is. 400 with a th400 12 bolt 373.

Yeah GTO the feeder is good for grass and flower beds i use 5 gallon bucket under my 60 gallon rain barrel which does not water a lot of containers and then have to revert to the hose method and bucket and MG.

Yes.............................

GM used to make some fun cars.  But, that was then, and this is now.

I heart MG soil. Any fig ive put in it has taken off and is happy.

When I was pampering my blueberries, I'd mix a 'fancy' fertilizer solution in 32 gallon garbage cans. I'd adjust the pH with acid, add MG and Ammonium sulfate, sometimes epsom salts, and water the bbs with a bucket.

Hadn't thought of doing that with figs - having a large container of ready-mixed, but dilute fertilizer solution ready, but it's something to think about since they all are in pots. That made it very easy.

Yeah, I just got a nursery supply catalogue today. I already see all kinda of crazy stuff. There might be some new fertilizers on the horizon for next season.
