Question on pinching figs

Hello everyone!

Last year my unknown fig dropped it's fruit, it's a very vigorous grower, so I think it may put too much power intro growing shoots rather than fruits. Should I pinch the tips to encourage ripening of fruit and wood, and stimulate the branching on the next year?
Would it be OK if I cut the branches as pictured?

If it was my plant, I will cut it at the upper line and plant the branch in a shady cool place after removing the bigger leaves from the cut branch.

Thanks OttawanZ5, I cut off the top, and pinched the other branches.

Too bad I haven't used the forum search beforehand, I've found a lot of info on this topic.

Hi Ottawan.  Just so I have this right too, you would do this: 1) So that the lower part would focus its energy on ripening the figs; and 2) So that the upper part could root and you would then have two plants?

Sorry to be so concrete, but before I do this too I wanted to make sure I had it straight.

Hope you are well my friend.
