Well. Out of the hundred+ rooted cuttings I did through the winter, and the 30-40 or so plants I still have after giving some away and watered all summer. Then the 5-10 that produced figs, and the three plants that had produced early enough to hopefully ripen and the one tree ahead of the rest I have one green fig that has almost doubled in size and changed to light green. I hope I get to try my first fig. Wed we are supposed to get hard rain and then temps dip into low 40s. All this and I am also hoping birds and squirrels don't know what figs are and ruin the fig. Really hoping this is ready to go before rains wed. Will post a pic if I get to taste! Sounds like a lot of work for one fig but I am encouraged. I think next year with all the growth on the plants I should see way more figs. I also learned how to be successful rooting figs from cuttings and met many interesting, generous, and knowledgeable people along the way. Thanks all and please keep fingers crossed for me that I get to try the fruits of labor... hoping to split in thirds so that my wife, daughter, and I can all sample.
