racemosa fig, anyone know much about it?

Was thinking about adding this very large grower to mix but there's not enough info about it like what zone can it live in? What's the fruit taste like? Can it be grown from seed? Anyone know much about it?

I am familiar with Ficus racemosa... and I am growing it. What is your question exactly?

Meanwhile I will show some pictures...

What zone can this fig live in, where could I find one, are they easy to grow from a seed, and what does the fruit taste like, can u eat it?

Hardiness is suitable for Florida, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Suffers damage below 55°.

Here in Malaysia you can find a lot... near rivers and waterways.

Easy to grow from seed, tomorrow I will post seedling photos. Growth rate is slower than carica seedlings.

Yes, the fruit is edible but the taste is blend. The young fruit could be cooked with vegetables...

Well that counts me out lol

Well, now I want one anyway lol

Long time ago a friend from Timor said that Racemosa root stock accepts F.Carica scions

Francisco
Portugal

Yes it accepts...

I'm just starting out . I really don't know one fig tree from the other unless it's got a tag on it . Lol what I do have is on the small side, a imported Black Madera from a seller in Portugal. The Seller was on etsy lol 4weeks later I got a small fig tree. It was till alive after all that time in the mail just hope it's a real BM. I have 2 small VdB, a small LSU purple, black mission that's making fruit this year, Chicago hardy that's making fruit, I have one old old fig tree that's a monster! I'm not sure what it is! But it makes great figs really sweet. I have a couple 5gal pots of brown turkey figs that are making fruit this year. I have a small Magnolia Brunswick. Then on the green fig side I have a small Desert King with a fig or two on it. And lastly the Green Ishica. Would love to get as maybe figs as I can. I have plenty of room and it stays pretty warm in my zone I didn't get below 30* degrees this past winter if u wanna even call it a winter! It stayed in the high 70's all winter long. And oddly enough this summer is staying kinda cool. Crazy weather we are having here in the south. The wind hasn't stopped blowing since Xmas!!!
