We are finally getting some rain here!!  For an hour already!  It's the first rain we have had in over a month - it's been so long i don't remember when the last time it rained this long. 

A few weeks ago it rained for 5 minutes - that doesn't count ;)

And it is 56F

Same here for us in North Central Arizona, only temps are a bit cooler...45 F right now. This is our first rain in a couple of months.  Definately an "indoor" day.

Same here in S. California.  I'm in N. San Diego county area.  My rain gauge is registering 2 inches here at my place.  We had flood warnings all over SD county, and we're in for more rain off and on through Tuesday.  And, it's cold, brrr.  A nice day to stay inside, with a warm cup of tea, a good book and some warm figs with melted goat cheese, yum :-)

Wettest December day ever, except for one in 1942.

Officially we ended up with less than an inch!!  I think we'll need a little bit more to make a difference.

Jo-Ann, I'm glad that you got some rain from it.  And I hope you get more in the coming months... you folks in that region have suffered a pretty long and significant drought, so I hope the weather reverts to former rain patterns for you this year.  Sometimes I wish rainfall would even out a little more (lots of us have gotten way too much rain, and lots of others have gotten way too little).  So here's to hoping that your long term drought is ending.

It was Northern California's turn to to get the pineapple express a couple weeks back, where it comes straight from Hawaii, and you get 5-10 inches or more in 2-3 days. It has been a few years since we were the target, such as "Miracle March" in 1991.

Some parts of southern California had maybe 1" out of the first 3-4 storms. We racked up maybe .05" from the same storms. The last one was good for 1 to 1-1/4 here, with a little more last night. It has been twelve months since we saw anything worth talking about.
