Rain Spoiled Figs Saved

A couple of days ago, it rained again.

Ripe figs got spoiled, with ants all over them.
Yesterday, I harvested, split and washed them, placed them on a tray over
tin fold inside the oven, and fired it on-and-off multiple times at the min. temp
possible with our oven at 170*F for a day.

Yumm, yumm! Heck, even our cat showed some interest?

A lower-temp/longer-time could have possibly been better;
notice the "wasted" caramel-juices spilled on the tin foil...

Good suggestion Gorgi.
It is raining here and there are some split figs (not as many though).
I will add the fat but unripe as well adding a few drops of honey over the unripe ones and see how it tastes.

Nice to see some figs .
Here season came and went fast .

It will come back. It just gave you an opportunity to shovel a few snow loads off the driveway. Keep hope.
