Someone said they would like to see pictures so here is the Raspberry Latte cutting.  The roots are to the edge of the pot but have not yet started to wind around the bottom so it will still be a week or more before this one go's out.  The greenhouse has been a little warm this week so I'm trying to get them to the Cravo.

Just curious, how long did it take for your Latte cuttings to root?

I had 2 cuttings.  One rooted very fast (less than 3 weeks) and the other just started to root(more than 2 months)

One started for me. It has a nice red pigment. Yours?

Mine are still in greenhouse being kept under somewhat low light.  They may turn red when they finally get out in brighter light.

My raspberry latte'so died in the cup. They had nice roots, then suddenly started wilting and died. :(

Would some of you mind posting pictures of leaves of your mature Raspberry Latte's? I have one that was gifted to me as an air layer and one cutting that a generous member sent. I am wondering if the cutting is true to type because the leaves are so different from the air layer I got. The second clue that it may not be the right thing is...it rooted for me. I have a 0% success rate with this variety!

   Mine is still in it's 10 oz cup. However, it ahs distinctive sharply pointed leaves. I don't know how or if they will change  as it matures. I will be glad to provide photos now or later at your preference.

Harvey, thanks a million! That's what my larger air layer looks like. The smaller one resembles a negronne. I thought something was fishy when I had a cutting labeled Raspberry Latte and it started rooting for me! That's one that's never gonna happen here.

Dale, do your leaves look like Harvey's?

Here's mine.  I moved it to a 1 gallon and brought it home so I had a fig tree on the patio.  It's grown a bit but still not large.   

As a point of reference, my plant was started from cuttings obtained from Jon, the originator of this variety.

Schaplin, those leaves don't look like mine or Harvey's. I believe the wonderful guy that gave me mine also sourced it rom Jon and my leaves on the large one are exactly like yours Harvey. The new plant is just going to be UNK until I can get a handle on what it is for sure. (perhaps never) But, I like the other figs with simular leaves so maybe it gets to stay.

My cutting came from Jon too.  The number on the cutting was 2707.  Weird but they are really pretty leaves.  I was pretty careful about labeling each cutting with a silver pen and a tag.

I know seedlings from the same batch can have differences. Harvey, do you think that may be the case? Not with mine but with schaplins? Does Jon have more than one seedling that he kept and grew out?

Or maybe it was just an opps.  I only had 30 cuttings to label but I'm sure Jon did thousands.  If that is the case I'll just try again next year. 

Jon has many seedlings but only one of them became Raspberry Latte.  And I still don't have one so consider yourself lucky!  :)

Yeah, Bob is right, all Raspberry Latte should be from the same original seedling which was given this name.  My cuttings were also accession 2707.  On the Encanto variety index I don't see very clear photos of the leaves but it looks like they have lobes.  Maybe some cuttings produce leaves without lobes until the plants become older. We will find out eventually.

lovely plant pics, and I hear great reviews on Raspberry Latte variety.

I have a question regarding the clear container. Did you have to destroy the container in order to pul out the rooted plant from it or it come off easily?
I have grown my last batch of cuttings in those type of containers and getting more and more worried about the removal process as the roots get more closer to the walls.

I don't understand why that didn't come up for me in my search but thank you very much for finding it Harvey. Those are exactly the 2 leaf patterns I have and a couple of the leaves looked very similar to schaplins as well. It appeared Jasons were all on 1 tree.

That makes me feel a little better.

I was trying to keep your identity secret LOL! You absolutely have fig fairies at your house because it not only rooted for me but is growing great! Everything you sent has exploded! I can't believe a Raspberry Latte grew from a cutting at my house! I have tried several times to root them and managed to kill every single one. Then it has all the leaves showing the Negronne pattern and the air layer Tim sent me had all the almost heart shaped leaves.

The first two pictures are from the cutting you sent and the last two are the air layer tree. You can see why I had questions along with the fact that it's alive.

After seeing pictures of the two leaf patterns on the same tree it made me feel alot better.

Perhaps this is why Jon didn't put pictures of the leaves on the web site :)
