Hi. I just planted the saffron in containers with 50/50 miracle grow regular potting mix and perlite. Just one question. Does the bulb go in tail down? I planted them about 1/2 inch below the soil.
The flat part goes down. The 'tail' goes up. They need large containers or they won't produce flowers and they'll get weaker every year. I hope the nitrogen isn't too high. That can inhibit flowering as well. Best of luck with them.
Oh thanks. I'll go Out and turn them over. I have them in one gallons but I'll transfer them to bigger pots. Lot of potting soil needed
